The details: Mindy and Micah’s beautiful wedding on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at St. Joseph Church in Seattle and the Brightwater Center in Woodinville.
When I first met Mindy and Micah via video chat I could tell they were going to be a great couple to work with and that their wedding was going to be really unique and a lot of fun. I was excited to shoot their interfaith ceremony at St. Joseph parish in Seattle – which is an absolutely beautiful cathedral-like church with a big, vaulted ceiling and tons of stained glass windows.
Micah and his groomsmen prepared the chuppah at the front of the church while Mindy and her bridesmaids got ready and relaxed. Guests started to arrive and mingle.
Their mixed Catholic-Jewish ceremony was really nice and incorporated both faiths really well, with alternating messages by their priest and rabbi.
After the ceremony Mindy and Micah signed their marriage license and the ketubah and emerged from the church to the applause of their waiting family and friends.
It was a short drive over to the Brightwater Center in Woodinville for the reception.
The Brightwater Center is a great venue for wedding receptions. There’s a ton of awesome green space outside and there’s a big wooden dancefloor surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the room with incredible golden light at sunset.
The horah is one of my favorite things to see at weddings. Just look at their faces! It’s so much fun.
A great thing about summer weddings in northwest Washington is that it stays light out so long – it can be really nice to take a break form dancing to cool off outside. The big open outdoor space at the Brightwater Center, surrounded by trees and letting that beautiful golden sunset light wash over everyone, was so great late in the evening.
Congratulations, Mindy and Micah! Your wedding was beautiful and a whole lot of fun.
Thanks for having me be a part of your day!
